Connection Assignment and Rubric The objective of this assignment is to make connections between the play, The Crucible, by Arthur Miller, and outside sources to further help you understand the play.
For this assignment, you and your partner (if you would like one) will make a connection between the novel and another source. Connections may be related to theme, similar topics, or similar characters. Sources you may wish to connect to: Poetry Short Stories Novels and books Comics and Graphic novels TV shows Magazine Articles/Newspaper Articles Movies Art (paintings, photographs, etc.)
Connections should be accompanied by the piece you connect to –bring a copy of the poem, lyrics, art, story, etc. If it is physically impossible to bring a copy of your connection (a scene from a movie for example), summarize it in at least 50 words, then follow with your response. Your connection response should be at least 250 words. Explain the connection between the two pieces. Cite the passage from The Crucible that you are connecting to using MLA format. Use quotes and page numbers. Cite your connection piece as well.
EXTRA CREDIT: Present your connection t the class in 1-2 minutes. You must bring a copy of your connection piece for the presentation (cd, movie, picture, etc). Your presentation will be worth extra credit points.
